Laura Hawbaker has lived in Prague, Poland, Hawaii, New Orleans, and now Chicago. She has written for The Chicago Tribune, The Chicago Sun-Times, Time Out Magazine, and Newcity Magazine, as well as numerous literary publications. Laura earned her Masters from the University of Illinois at Chicago and her Bachelors from Columbia College. She is a winner in the Traditional Fiction category of the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) Crown Awards.
In 2012, Laura was awarded a Fulbright Grant from the U.S. Department of State. She has displayed her art at the Frenchmen Art Market and Pirate's Alley in the French Quarter of New Orleans.
