Welcome to LauraHawbaker.com!

When not couch crashing or meandering lost in foreign cities, Laura Hawbaker is a Chicago-based writer and artist. A graduate of the much ado-ed Columbia College Story Workshop method, her writing has appeared in a myriad of publications, including Cicada, Newcity Magazine, newWitch, The Banana King, and Dark Sky Magazine.

Not one to settle down, she is an eclectic artist and has experimented in many mediums: ink, acrylic, paper, digital and mixed media. In her wayward youth, she fiddled around with film. An accomplished caricaturist, her renderings have graced the front banner of VoteForTheWorst.com for two snarky seasons.

Her work has been acknowledged by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association as well as Preditors and Editors, and she thanks them for it. For a more grab bag look at Laura--her likes and dislikes, musical preferences, etc... (if you're into that kind of thing)--you can visit her myspace page.

"There are still lots of days; don't you waste them on your once-upon fairy tales... What about here? What about life? Alone on your own, you dream dreamer... So long, beautiful. Do a lot of writing." --- Edison Woods
